Maidenhead Operatic Society (MOS) is a friendly group of singers actors and dancers. We produce two shows each year, which could be a classic or contemorary musica, operetta and regular Gilbert & Sullivan operas. We perform at the Desborough Theatre in the heart of Maidenhead.
We are affiliated to NODA and are a member of Maidenhead Theatre Council and Maidenhead Arts Council. MOS is a registered charity no: 803367. We regularly perform Opera, Operetta and Musicals in Maidenhead. Recent shows have included Carmen, The Magic Flute, Kiss Me Kate, The Yeomen of the Guard and The Merry Widow. Having celebrated its 60th birthday in November 2010, it is also one of the oldest local societies.
We are always pleased to have more help backstage or in the front of house, so why not e-mail us if you are interested to be involved with our productions. If you are a budding performer, have a look at our future programme page, and please don’t be shy about contacting us – we are a very friendly and welcoming group!
There are a number of social/fund-raising events each year, most of them arranged under our “Fun for a Fiver” banner. These events give us an opportunity to socialise with each other and our families and friends, and also raise funds to help ‘make ends meet’.
Examples include:
Quiz Evenings
Summer Bar-B-Q
Skittles Evenings
Games Evening
