Carmen The Musical is based on Bizet’s well-known and thrilling dramatic opera set in Seville.
The main difference between ‘The Musical’ version and the opera as it is performed today is that the recitative takes the form of spoken dialogue (in ine with the original version of the opera when it was first presented in France); the story, the characters and the glorious music are largely unchanged.
We are delighted to announce the production team for our Autumn production
Production Team:
Director – Lou Millward. Many of you enjoyed working with Lou in The Gondoliers and La Belle Helene, and she is looking forward to the challenge of directing us again, but this time in a work that is definitely not a comedy.
Music Director – Howard Faulks. Howard was MD for our productions of The New Moon, The Sorcerer and Carousel almost ten years ago, and then took ‘time off’ to focus on his own choir. We are very pleased to have tempted him to take up the MD baton with us again.
Show week commences at The Desborough Suite with Band Call on Sunday 13th November.
